Note:  An easy way to get "25th of the Month Club" reminders is to follow the monthly updates/prayer intentions on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/March25info or Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/AnnunciationDayMarch25 -- both offer monthly prayers and other year-round ideas for promoting the Annunciation and its pro-life import.

"25th-of-the-Month-Club" is a great way to encourage easy once-a-month pro-life activities inspired by Christ's conception and prenatal life, and also to remind us to plan for the March 25 Annunciation/Day-of-the-Unborn-Child and highlight the sanctity-of-life message inherent in Christmas.

According to some polls, over 50 percent of Americans consider themselves "pro-life."  Yet few of those are involved in promotion of the pro-life cause--this can be due to varied priorities or an introverted personality, or simply because they don't see themselves as the "activist" type.  As such, there is a need for more entry-level pro-life activities that everyone can do.  "25th of the Month Club" is one way to encourage that majority to promote the cause on some level--in a non-confrontational way, just one day a month.  Imagine the positive impact on our culture if even half of that 51 percent put into practice some of the tips below on a monthly basis.  Most of the 12 monthly suggestions provided are ideal for individuals who've never engaged in pro-life activities before, but they're also good for time-challenged activists with numerous work/family commitments and others who want to stay involved in the movement but can no longer maintain their past level of participation.

The 25th of each month is an ideal focus as it references the traditional days to celebrate the most historically significant conception and birth in history -- those of Jesus Christ--observed on March 25th and December 25th--exactly nine months apart.  Therefore, among these twelve days a year set aside for life-affirming activities, these two deserve special emphasis, among Christians certainly, but also for ecumenical and secular pro-life activism since March 25th has been honored in recent years as an International "Day of the Unborn Child" and Christmas has long been an occasion for charity toward children even among organizations not affiliated with a particular faith.

25th-of-the-Month-Club is also an excellent way for Christians to keep the mystery of the Incarnation in mind, not just on March 25th but throughout the year.  It also serves a need in providing monthly reminders to prepare for the Incarnation feast of Christ's conception, both personally and especially in planning church/school and organization events, which may need to be arranged months ahead of time.  Reminders are especially helpful in that unlike Christmas and Easter, which have built-in preparatory seasons of Advent and Lent, the Annunciation/"Day of the Unborn Child" can easily slip through the cracks, as it has no lead-in time to focus attention on its importance in advance.  Life-affirming messages and activities each 25th remind us of the Annunciation throughout the year and allow us to make plans for observing this day.

The 25th-of-the-Month-Club activities are only suggestions.  You can try them all or just pick one to do each month--or invent your own.  The tips work for individuals, or for groups both local and in-person or on-line via social networking.  If you want to concentrate on activities and events in one area then a town/city-wide 25th-of-the-Month-Club might be best.  Begin any month of the year--but if introducing the practice to a group, such as a church congregation, school, or organization, consider launching the program sometime in March, or if possible on March 25th--an ideal start date as it once began the New Year in the old pre-Gregorian calendar.

Meet In Person, Join Internet Groups, or Participate as Individuals:

There are benefits to meeting in person, in terms of social interaction, building a values-based community and bolstering each other's commitment, but scheduling can be a challenge.  On-line meetings can at least eliminate drive-time.  An even simpler alternative is a local group message board or social networking page where members simply check in and post their prayer intentions or monthly pro-life activity at some point on each 25th of the month--though this is the easiest way to maintain a sense of local community, lack of direct interaction can make it difficult for this type of group to thrive, so it is preferable to have at least one or two annual get-togethers particularly in March and December.  Regardless of where you meet, consider showing the live feed of the Annunciation grotto in Nazareth during your prayer time -- either on home computer or mobile device with a stand.  The live feed is available at http://www.cmc-terrasanta.com/en/live/live-from-the-grotto-of-the-annunciation-in-nazareth-16.html -- with 15 continuous hours of coverage every day (6 a.m. to 9 p.m. in Israel's time zone, which is 7 hours later than Eastern Standard Time) -- at the linked webpage note the sample screenshots of live channels below the video window shows the inscription at the Annunciation site: "VERBUM CARO HIC FACTUM EST" -- meaning -- Here the Word Became Flesh.

When meeting in person, make it easy and pleasant for all participants -- something to look forward to.  If the 25th falls on a weekday suggest a centrally located restaurant or outdoor snack stand to meet after normal work hours.  A park or community garden can offer a nice alternative in good weather, and some churches and shrines have outdoor areas suited to vocal prayer -- picnic fare or take-out can be brought if no food service is available.   If the 25th falls on a weekend, then you might try an in-home get-together, and take a cue from the Thirteenth of the Month Club (based on the dates of the Fatima apparitions) which had light snacks at their monthly prayer meetings -- offering the convenience of members not having to find time for a meal on their own before or after the meeting, without putting an undue burden on the host to provide a full dinner.  At your gathering, set aside time for prayer, sharing of ideas and books/articles on the Annunciation, or show a video.  Although there are some prerecorded videos on the Annunciation and the site in Nazareth where it happened, you might want to record and archive the programs shown on EWTN, such as EWTN's weekly broadcast of the "Angelus from the Grotto in Nazareth" airing at 3:30 Wed. morning ET but occasionally delayed until 4:30 a.m.-- to record check the current schedule at https://www.ewtn.com/series/series_show.asp?sat=DOME&sc=381-317383 for more info).  Also consider Joanna Bogle's fun and friendly special on how to celebrate the feast entitled "Feasts & Seasons -- Church History and Traditions: March 25: The Annunciation" which EWTN airs in late March or early April, on "traditional customs and cuisine associated with the "Feast of the Annunciation" as well as its "springtime connection to the Resurrection" -- read more at http://tvlistings.zap2it.com/tv/feasts-and-seasons-march-25-the-annunciation/EP008713710020?aid=zap2it and check EWTN's schedule as the feast day approaches.

But whether you meet face-to-face or on-line, or simply join the effort as an individual, make prayer the focus of your monthly activity -- a good way to set the stage is to access the live feed from the site of the Annunciation in Nazareth at the grotto -- it creates a lovely atmosphere for prayer and/or contemplation on Christ's conception -- to be able to see in real time the place where the Word became flesh, and pilgrims coming to visit this hallowed Holy Land site at the Church of the Annunciation.  The live feed is viewable 15 hours a day (and other times with very low light) at http://www.cmc-terrasanta.com/en/live/live-from-the-grotto-of-the-annunciation-in-nazareth-16.html -- in EST the best times are 11 pm through 2 pm the next day.

Note for groups and individuals:  The simplest way to begin is to do the same activity every 25th (something you can do anywhere, any time of year)--for example, choose a pro-life prayer to pray once a month on this day, and leave a copy of the prayer in a clever place--in public where it will be seen or found.  If you are also having a meeting share these little tips with other members.  If you participate/pray as an individual you have more freedom to access the live feed from Nazareth's Annunciation grotto site at the link above at the times it is available.  You might also make the sacrifice to rise early each 25th and watch the live video feed of the Angelus that day from the grotto -- which begins at approximately 4:45 a.m. and ends at 5 a.m. ET (which is noon in Israel) -- just follow the link here at the correct time for your time zone http://www.cmc-terrasanta.com/en/live/event/the-angelus-prayer-from-the-grotto-of-the-annunciation-61.html

Twelve 25th-of-the-Month-Club Tips (Longer Version) for Blog Posting, E-mail, Facebook, etc.:

For general promotion try these two "anytime" posts to promote "25thOfTheMonthClub"--or as a reminder  for the 24th:

The 25th is coming!  What Can You Do 4 Life Once A Month?  Share the "25th of the Month Club" Banner to encourage monthly pro-life activities and reflection on the conception/Incarnation, prenatal life, and infancy of Christ each 25th, with special focus on the Mar. 25 Annunciation feast (the old New Years' Day, now Day Of The Unborn Child) & the Dec. 25 Nativity feast a pregnancy-length nine months later.  View the image here http://www.dayoftheunbornchild.com/25thOfTheMonthClub_banner.jpg and Follow/Retweet on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/March25info & Like/Share on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/AnnunciationDayMarch25  ~For more info visit:  http://www.dayoftheunbornchild.com

What Is The 25th-Of-The-Month-Club?:  Life affirming activities anyone can do--just once a month!  Get ideas/reminders and easy pro-life tips every 25th, with special emphasis on the Mar. 25 feast of Christ's conception/Incarnation and the Dec. 25 feast of Christmas 9 months later.  Retweet this banner http://www.dayoftheunbornchild.com/25thOfTheMonthClub_banner.jpg on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/March25info & Like/Share on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/AnnunciationDayMarch25  ~For more info visit:  http://www.dayoftheunbornchild.com

March 25th (Annunciation/DayOfTheUnbornChild~9 Months Before Christmas):

25th Of The Month Club ~ Tip for March 25th: It's Annunciation Day!--Traditional Observance of Christ's Conception and the Old New Year's Day 9 Months Before Christmas).  On this date now also designated as Day of the Unborn Child, do something extra special to honor Christ's Incarnation and life before birth: Invite someone to attend a special Annunciation / Day of the Unborn Child themed event with you.  If there are no DOTUC events in your area, wear a carnation to regular church services on the Annunciation feast, or place one in a vase for the dinner table that night, saying a special grace in gratitude for the gift of the Incarnation.  (Also note that some Annunciation celebrations take place in early April in years when the feast is moved to avoid Lent/Easter conflicts, or because many churches in an alternate-calendar Orthodox tradition celebrate it each year in April--nine months after their January Christmas.  March 25th is an ideal time to promote attendance for these "transferred" and "old-calendar" Annunciation celebrations in April.)  Visit www.DayOfTheUnbornChild.com for more

April 25th:

25th Of The Month Club ~ Tip for April: If you get mail from worthy prolife organizations but can't afford to donate, Tweet or post on Facebook about them and include their website URL to make those mailings count -- if you do social networking on the go, take part of the mailing with the web address as a reminder.  Sign and mail postcards they send on current issues, and use the free logo stickers/labels even if you don't donate, for that promotes the organization or its cause and utilizes materials they've already paid for.

May 25th:

25th Of The Month Club ~ Tip for May: Shop4Life~Do as much of your shopping/business as possible with stores and service providers that are Pro-Life.  For example, HobbyLobby sells much more than arts and crafts -- they have home décor, gift items, small furnishings, holiday decorations, party/gift wrapping items, small toys, candy, some office (tape, stationery, designer paper clips), and even hardware supplies (glue, paint, small tools).  Consider switching to CharityMobile.com for cell phone service.  Local and small businesses, doctors/dentists, and other professionals that support the cause can often be found in printed programs for banquets for pro-life pregnancy centers, either in stand-alone ads or a sponsors listing.

June 25th:

25th Of The Month Club ~ Tip for June: Save ProLife mailings or select attractive pieces (glossy inserts with catchy slogans without your name or address label) and place them in public paper recycling containers (library, post office, supermarket) so it may be seen http://dayoftheunbornchild.com/25thOfTheMonthClub_banner.jpg

July 25th:

25th Of The Month Club ~ Tip for July: Make monthly donations to a pro-life organization or home for pregnant mothers on this day.  Mail it or donate online each 25th~or, some organizations let you pick the day for once-a-month credit/debit card donations, and if so, choose the 25th!

August 25th:

25th Of The Month Club ~ Tip for August:  Find a great image, slogan, or video clip that directly or indirectly conveys a pro-life message and leave in public places (rest rooms, fast food tables, etc.) & share them online ~ for ex. a photo of unborn twins, or this clever lenticular image shift at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSoo9NhLP9s (probably not intended as a pro-life video) that shows pregnancy stages without mentioning abortion.  You can also right-click and save the .jpg images on the web banners page at http://www.dayoftheunbornchild.com to attach directly as photos to Tweets, Facebook posts, and e-mails ~ for example, the 25thOfTheMonthClub banner at http://www.dayoftheunbornchild.com/25thOfTheMonthClub_banner.jpg

September 25th:

25th Of The Month Club ~ Tip for September:  Collect pro-life mailings to take on the go ~ use time in waiting rooms & restaurants to open & scan through them, then leave some interesting pieces without your name or address behind on the table or in a magazine ~ especially those with attractive photos, big catchy logos and web addresses, or as November nears, ads from pro-life candidates.  This utilizes your time and provides an opportunity to pass the message along to another person--what's junk mail or old news to you might be completely new to someone else and catch their attention (and after all some people just can't resist looking through someone else's mail--even if it's addressed to "Dear Supporter...").  This tip is ideal for fast-food places, food courts, and highway rest stops that don't have tables cleaned off very often. http://dayoftheunbornchild.com/25thOfTheMonthClub_banner.jpg

October 25th:

25th Of The Month Club ~ Tip for October:  Pray for and promote pro-life vigils/events around the world, or consider attending one yourself.  October includes the single-day LifeChain and the 40DaysForLife fall season prayer campaign.  Share "25th of the Month Club" or "Day Of The Unborn Child" banners with other attendees.  If you can't attend in person, follow events and promote them at home on-line.  For ex. you can get daily devotionals with prayer intentions at the http://www.40daysforlife.com/ blog page and share their website address on social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook, etc.  To find a local vigil to attend, click this link ~ http://www.40daysforlife.com/vigil-search.aspx ~ you can sign up for a time block, or just stop by to give encouragement, refreshments, or just to get an idea of what the vigils are like. [Oct. 25 always falls within fall 40 Days.]  If there are no vigil locations near you, remember that October 25th is just two weeks before elections in the U.S.  Find easy ways to distribute pro-life voter guides or election ads for pro-life candidates--leave a few in public places (one at your table in a restaurant, waiting room, mall bench, food court, highway rest stop, grocery store, bookshelf/magazine rack, restroom, etc.).

November 25th:

25th Of The Month Club ~ Tip for November:  Highlight the Annunciation's "Christmas Connection" by promoting and sharing the import of the March 25 feast during the Holiday (meaning HolyDay) Season.  For example, use "A Blessed Annunciation +9Months= A Merry Christmas" MailSeals/GiftTags by printing the file at the web banners page at http://www.dayoftheunbornchild.com ~ Print it on paper, or for best results use cardstock for gift tags (punch holes in corners and attach ribbon), or on adhesive full label sheets to attach directly to packages or to use as envelope seals. Please visit the Ideas page at http://www.dayoftheunbornchild.com/ for more tips on highlighting the Christmas/Annunciation connection during the holiday season, and at the end of November print the complimentary pocket-calendar/calling-cards to insert in Christmas cards, gifts, etc.

December 25th (Christmas~9 Months After Mar.25 Annunciation Day):

25th Of The Month Club ~ Tip for December: Have a Blessed Christmas! & Don't Miss the Easy Opportunities at Christmas and New Year's to Share the Meaning of the March 25th Annunciation~Take time and a few keystrokes out of your busy day to share Annunciation-Christmas/NewYear banners via Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/March25info & Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/AnnunciationDayMarch25 ~ and remember to use "ABlessedAnnunciation+9Mos=AMerryChristmas" GiftTags/Seals on wrapped gifts and/or Mini-Calendars to insert in the packages you'll be giving.  This is an easy way to connect Christmas to Annunciation Day's true meaning~simply by highlighting the 9 month interval between them, and also to point out the Annunciation's historical importance as the old New Year's Day.  Print them using free downloadable files on cardstock, sticker sheets or plain paper by following the instructions on the http://www.dayoftheunbornchild.com Ideas page under the "Highlighting the Annunciation/Christmas/NewYear Connection."

January 25th:

25th Of The Month Club ~ Tip for January:  The post-Christmas period is the time to think about planning for March 25th.  Many pro-life events take place in late January near the Roe v. Wade anniversary date -- DC's March For Life, the West Coast Walk For Life, One Life LA, or other local event.  Pray they will bear good fruit, and if you've met or reconnected with fellow pro-lifers on these occasions share info and banners on the upcoming Annunciation/Day of the Unborn Child, and keep in touch as March approaches to exchange ideas and plan.  Use the graphics on this site's web banners page for printed copies, or share on the Web via Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/March25info & Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/AnnunciationDayMarch25

February 25th:

25th Of The Month Club ~ Tip for February:  Promote the upcoming Annunciation / Day Of The Unborn Child and related events by sharing banners such as http://www.dayoftheunbornchild.com/PrayerToChristUnbornMar25AnnunciationBanner.jpg via Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/March25info & Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/AnnunciationDayMarch25 ~ or print "Prayer To Christ Unborn" prayer cards and informative pamphlets via http://www.dayoftheunbornchild.com

Other Year-Round Ideas:

"9 Months 4 Life" (spiritual adoption prayer for at-risk unborn children and meditation on the import of Christ's Incarnation and prenatal life from Mar. 25-Dec. 25) can be part of 25th-of-the-Month-Club activities or a stand-alone alternative--for more info visit our 9Months4Life page, or for other year-round ideas click here).

In some countries that observe the March 25th "Day of the Unborn Child" pro-life organizations have already begun year-round prayer and activities each 25th of the month--with special emphasis on March 25 and December 25.  This website's "25th of the Month Club" is focused on activities individuals can do with little or no preparation, including easy entry-level pro-life activism.  However, other pro-life and faith communities have more formal worship and organized group activity.  For example, several parishes in Ecuador's Archdiocese of Quito have a Mass for the unborn child and blessing of pregnant mothers every 25th.  Spain's 25th-of-the-month events are publicized via the websites http://sialavida25m.org/ and especially http://veladas25.org/.  For links to English translations of the http://veladas25.org/ pages visit our Recent Developments page.)
